East Med Yacht Show - Poros 2015

An international exhibition that is being held in the harbour of Poros Island for the 14th consecutive year.

East Med Yacht Show - Poros 2015 Every year, exceptional yachts are presented to charter agencies and brokers from all over the world, furthermore a very wide range of activities is represented to the quayside exhibition.

The exhibition is open to Charter Brokers, professionals of the yachting sector, Travel Agents, Tour Operators and Media representatives.
Yacht viewing will begin on Thursday the 30th of April, 2015 and end on Monday the 4th of May, 2015.
In the morning of Monday May 4th the yachts will depart from Poros Marina.

Poros is one of the most beautiful islands in Greece. It's a volcanic island very green with  neoclassical and Venetian architecture, picturesque and authentic villages. Its interesting  coastline with sandy and pebbled beaches with deep blue waters makes it a perfect island for  relaxing holidays.
Poros takes its name from the 200m sea passage, separating the island from the Peloponnesian  mainland. Poros consists of two islands, joined by a narrow canal: the small volcanic islet of  Sfairia over which Poros town houses clustered on the hillside and pine- swatched Kalavria.
Poros is 31 square kilometers with a population of 4000 people is part of the Saronic Islands  along with the islands of Aegina, Hydra and Spetses. It is located 32 nautical miles south from  the largest port of Greece; Piraeus (is 2, 5 hours away by ferry).
Walk through the narrow streets of Poros where you can you can find the archaeological  museum, the library, reception rooms and get to the historic clocktower "Roloi" at the top of  the  hill which is the symbol of the Poros town.

displays exhibits from the Mycenaean ansd the Roman Period.
Temple of Poseidon
In the northern part there are ruins of the temple of Poseidon – God of the sea and protector of the island.
Greek Naval Academy
Today, the building is used as a training centre of the Greek Navy, although there in 1928 the  ambassadors of 1921 of the tree allied forces were met to set the borders of the new Greek  State.
Russian Naval Station
The Russian Naval Station was built in 1834 to supply the Russia ships of the Aegean sea.
Monastery of Zoodochou Pigis is built around the 18th century and its name comes from the water- spring which means “life- giving spring”.
